Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone!! Thanks for the views, comments and favs- so meaningful to me! I apologize for the blanket reply but it frees me up to view your shots instead- so off I go to see them!!
@janewinfrey Thanks Jane! Yes, it was! I really expected to be battling butterflies the whole time I was up there. I will force myself to go to the top of a lighthouse just to see the view, but I have a queasy stomach the whole time. Sometimes even a picture taken from a high place can give me the willies! But how often to you get an opportunity like this? And it was a gift- so there was no way I was going to let my silly stomach get the better of me. BUT I only experienced that feeling once when I leaned over the edge of the basket to look down- and immediately stopped! For the most part you don't feel the height. I thought it would be really windy, but because the balloon moves with the air, you don't feel it at all. The basket comes up a little above your waist and of course the bottom is solid, so you really don't have the feeling that you're dangling in the wind. And since you're moving with the wind, it's not bumpy either. You just feel like you're floating and it's so quiet! Except for when the burner goes off. So yes, if you ever have the opportunity to go up in one, take it!!
