Some say it's about shopping.
Some say it's about family.
Some say it's about love.
Some say it's nothing at all.
Some say it's a few days off from work.
Some say it's an ancient festival dedicated to enticing the warm summer sun to return.
And some say it's about giving and receiving.
But in reality it is not about any of those things- as nice as some of them are. Christmas is about something far deeper. What it's about, that is, its significance is recognized in the Child whose name is embedded within it. Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew meaning the Lord Saves, God in the flesh, takes on the role of "Christos", the Anointed One, Messiah). It takes faith to not only understand it, but to believe it.
