I had walked into the kitchen to do the breakfast dishes and saw this fellow poking around my shepherd's hook looking for the bird feeder he almost destroyed last week. I rushed to get the nearest camera which was the point and shoot. Definitely NOT the camera I needed! But a little toss into the processing blender and it's a tolerable collage. The picture in the lower right is not very good, but is shows you how close he came to the deck this time. And don't worry- I was not on it! I was inside this time.
Thank you Allison, Taffy, Maggie, Joy, Dorre, Nicole, Haskar, Joan, Lou Ann, Lynda, Carole, and Wendy.
I don't think he's a threat right now as I don't see him on a daily basis. Hibernating season is not too far off but it's not uncommon around here for bears to be in a semi-hibernating state since the weather doesn't really get cold until Jan/Feb. We'll see- should he become a nuisance, there is a state program which will catch and relocate them in our more forested areas.
@randystreat Thanks Kathy- I don't think we'll be seeing him much longer (in fact I have not seen him since this day). It would be unusual for him to come on the deck- all the food related stuff (garbage can and grill) and down below and he actually walked right past them as if uninterested.
@homeschoolmom Thanks Lisa- first time, only time he's ever come that close.
