Kurri Kurri Mural by onewing

Kurri Kurri Mural

Have had medical appointments in Newcastle all day today, so haven't had chance to take any photos.
I decided to use another photo which I took yesterday at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival.

The theme of the festival was the 1950's, rock and roll, hot rod cars and 50's and 60's music, so I thought this mural which is painted on one of the buildings in the town was appropriate.

Kurri Kurri is an old mining town in the Hunter region of NSW, but it is becoming world famous for its murals which are scattered all around the town on walls of buildings. There are over 50 murals now, each one with a different theme. Somewhere on each mural though is a kookaburra. If you view this photo large, see if you can find it.
Fingers crossed for your test results Babs. In the meantime, I don't mind seeing more of your wonderful fifties festival shots

@joluise Well done. This one was quite easy, some are really difficult to spot. We went to Kurri Kurri last winter with the walking group and walked round the town following the mural trail. More standing than walking at some of the murals though trying to spot the b ... kookaburra! Glad when we came to the pub and had lunch!

@rhos Thanks Ann. Busy indeed, there are over 50 murals around the town now. You do the mural walk in winter though, it is far too hot to attempt in summer!
