At our photography club last night we had a light painting workshop. It was a brilliant night. We had about 5 stations set up with different types of light painting things to do. We had orbs, domes, UV light set ups etc. and this one - don't know what you would call this other than light painting. It is my first attempt at this particular type of photography. There is room for improvement! We split into groups of 5 or 6 people and spent 15 minutes at each station.
Inside the jar on this photo are water gel balls which are used in plant pots to keep your plants hydrated when you are away. I am sure I can find something else to do with those down the track. I am definitely going to try this type of photography again.
I put a dome on 365 a few days ago, so decided to put this one on today. I may put an orb on tomorrow which we did last night too.
@joluise Thanks Jo. This is just the beginning. We are planning another night of light painting but at our house this time. No doubt will show the results. We had a great night at the photo club - it has inspired us!!
@onewing well i dont think it needs improving its a lot better than i could do have a lovely Day Babs just about to start work now so will have to turn off the works computer till lunch time now .
@rhos Thanks Ann. It was just our photo club members who put this workshop together and we used torches, fairy lights on wires torches on wires and the bicycle wheel with lights round it and battery operated etc. Just a glass of marbes and a small torch should do this. Camera on a tripod. f8 100 iso manual focus, manual setting and a 10 second exposure. Give it a go.
@pdulis@simster Thanks for your lovely comments and for the fav Simmy. It isn't easy getting the torch in a spiral evenly and I can see ways I can improve this, but it was my first attempt and I was pleased with that. It was good fun to do.
