Not a day for sailing

Today it is a winter day here in Port Stephens. I wandered down to the Anchorage and the marina to get a photo for today. Managed to get three shots and then the rain came pouring down.

At least we are still in double figures today, it is 13 degrees C at the moment.
Lovely atmospheric shot. I'm not surprised you got wet - look at those clouds!

Yep! it's been like that here this afternoon, although I'm cosy under my electric throw rug. Are you ok after the traumatic morning? I'm surprised you got out and about after that!

We were just flicking through the home page and Kayley said..."whow, thats great" even before she knew it was yours. It is really brilliant and completely captures winter.

Those clouds look pretty dark and menacing and a great contrast to the boats and their reflections.

What a beautiful shot.
Very nippy here, currently 8.2C (reached 12C) but the apparent temp is 3.9C.

Love the composition. and the sky looks so threatening

@goosemanning It has poured down ever since too. Pretty chilly tonight.

@winnedreamer Yes I'm OK. You should know by now that I bounce!!! Probably needed to get out to blow the cobwebs away. Quite a cathartic day in one way.

@gypsy6 Thanks Deb and Kayley. It really is a winter day today. Luckily we don't get this every day.
June 19th, 2013
@paulaw They were a bit menacing. It just blew in from nowhere. I got a couple of photos and then it bucketed down.
June 19th, 2013
@gerry Thanks Gerry. It is pretty chilly here today.
June 19th, 2013
@joluise Thanks Jo. Thank heaven we live in NSW not Canberra, I don't think I could cope with it that cold!!!
June 19th, 2013
@elaine55 Thanks Elaine. It has poured down on and off all day today.
June 19th, 2013
@gamelee Rain certainly was imminent, it bucketed down just after I took this photo.
June 19th, 2013
@dekky740 Thanks Karen. They certainly were threatening, it has poured down all day and is bucketing down at the moment.
June 19th, 2013
Skies looking a bit angry, love the look.
June 19th, 2013
@bugsy Thanks Heather. It wasn't so bad when I got home. I think soldiers Point was copping most of the rain at the time.
June 19th, 2013
Gosh that looks very ominous. Nice one!
June 19th, 2013
wow... I would say not... great shot
June 19th, 2013
@steampowered Thanks Paul. I only got a couple of photos before it bucketed down and I had to run like the clappers to shelter from the rain.
June 20th, 2013
@lafish Strangely enough Laurie I was the only person down there!!!
June 20th, 2013
Very cool shot of a miserable looking day- love the comp! Great work, Babs :)
June 20th, 2013
This is a lovely shot! I love boats and marinas...the reflection is great!

This shot is wonderful. When I did have a sailboat, I dreaded these days, no going out in this kind of weather.
June 20th, 2013
@tillycarter Thanks Krista. I only just managed to stay ahead of the rain and didn't get too wet.
June 20th, 2013
@eyesmile Thanks Gena. It is very wintry at the moment, but the good thing about winter in Australia is that we get really sunny days too, so it isn't winter EVERY day.
June 20th, 2013
@degarvey Thanks De. I was the only one at the marina yesterday.
June 20th, 2013
Nice shot Babs! Hope it stays mild!
June 20th, 2013
@marie65 Thanks Marie. It is pretty chilly today and still raining!!
June 20th, 2013
What a great sky!
June 21st, 2013
@angelar Thanks Angela. It wasn't so great a couple of seconds after I took this photo though because it bucketed down!!! I didn't get too wet though, just ran for shelter.
