Tonight a group of us went to Boat Harbour hoping to get a photo of the supermoon. The weather wasn't looking good for the event though.
As some of our group were lined up on the beach setting up their camera's on tripods hoping for a break in the clouds, I looked behind me and spotted this.
Nobody got a photo of the moon, but at least I got my shot for 365 tonight, so it wasn't a wasted journey.
You know what, I was almost in the same boat, the moon began it's ascent while I had my back turned, did not get my tripod set up, but managed a photo and turned to the west and captured the sunset.
@joluise@dekky740@lafish@netkonnexion Thanks everyone. Sorry for the bulk reply, but just on my way out. Personally I think I wouild prefer this to the moon. Not a big moon fancier, I just went along for the ride. So was happy with this shot.
You got a beautiful shot! We didn't see the moon either....nice all day and then clouded up with a bit of rain. At least you got a lovely sunset! Love the sky!!
Sorry Babs, I missed this photo somehow. It was an interesting night. Glad you were able to catch this sunset, while we were all waiting for the moonrise!
What a great sunset. I set off in the car to try and capture the moon over the estuary and it promptly disappeared behind clounds as we arrived at our destination! Most frustrating.
Fabulous colour in those clouds Babs! It was pouring with rain here. I love that spot on Boat Harbour where you can whale watch we were up there a year ago watching them.
@elaine55 Thanks Elaine. We were lucky enough to spot a couple of whales while we were setting up the camera's. Didn't get a decent shot of them either. Just one shot of one of them 'waving'.
