Australia is really crowded!!! by onewing

Australia is really crowded!!!

This one is for Deb, thought it might make you smile Deb. Someone who we both know once said that Australia was really crowded. We still can't figure how they thought that, but they weren't the brightest button!! So every time we see a scene like this we quote that line and it still makes us smile. The old ones are the best!!!

Today is another beautiful day and very mild for winter. We are told that a cold snap is coming, but are making the most of what we have got at the moment.

If you view this large you will see one person walking along the beach and a pelican enjoying the sun. This beach is at the bottom of our road and it never gets crowded. We are so lucky.
Looks deserted! haha

That is beautiful. I love your beach. Don't forget the comment that Australia has a water problem because the immigrants come over to live and drink it all!!!! BTW is that a MAN on the beach??????

A beautiful spot - it's wonderful to have a little piece of paradise on your doorstep!

@havrotb Just what I needed yesterday - a deserted beach.
July 18th, 2013
@gypsy6 We could start an idiot board of her quotes couldn't we! Yep looks like a man, she is probably hiding in the bushes ready to pounce!!! @winnedreamer Sorry Nic Deb is making me lose feathers. Deb doesn't know yet about our 'how did that happen' line. Deb says that the cold snap has hit Victoria so it is probably on its way up here now.

@paulaw Thanks Paula. As it is so close to our house I walk her regularly and yes it is peaceful. Usually spot a dolphin or two and even saw a turtle once.

Not sure what the !!! meant, but I thought I would explain the title of this photo. Someone who Deb and I know once said that Australia was really crowded. I don't think she has ever been anywhere else in the world to compare it with (or ever left the centre of Melbourne) so we can't figure why she thinks that. There is so much space here we rattle round like peas in a barrel!

Statistics
UK Population approx 61 million, area 245 sq km. number of people per sq km. 248.25

Australia Population approx 21 million. area 7687 sq km. number of people per sq km 2.66
How the person who said it is really crowded here should think that we can't figure!! She isn't very bright. So every time we see somewhere like the scene above we say Australia is really crowded.
We drove inland once and didn't see another car for over 250 km!!!

Beautiful idyllic shot Babs, maybe they haven't visited England. I remember going to NZ back in 2007, arriving on Boxing Day and being told it was the busiest day of the year on the roads and we saw a handful of cars.
