I've been so busy today with photo club stuff that I haven't had time to take a photo.
We have to hand in the photos tonight for our exhibition next month and collect the monthly winning photos because David and I are organizing that part of the exhibition.
We have had thunderstorms and hail today, so today's photo is one which I took a few days ago before the rain came down.
Fabulous shot Babs of this cheeky bird. Like you I have been Camera Club all day, well the last 3 days have been tied up with it and I still haven't done the minutes. You are good because I am again 2 days behind in uploading and we wont mention commenting!
@eyesmile Yes Gena they are flying around freely. Almost all of the bird shots I take are free birds and not caged ones. These birds are so tame they land on your hand when you feed them. This one is on the rope which is holding up a bird feeder in the garden.
In fact just after I got this shot I was putting some bread out for the lorikeets, standing at our family room door and one of them flew up to me, landed on my head and then flew into the house. Luckily it was tame enough to get hold of and put back outside, but he certainly had a bit of an adventure!!
@elaine55 Thanks Elaine. David and I aren't doing all of the work for the exhibition this year we have haded over to others in the club. We are doing some of the work though. We collected in our photos for the exhibition last night and others have now got the task of doing the titles and corner flashes to go on the matts and then the publicity. It is hard work isn't it. As I said David and I did most of the work for the exhibitions in the last 3 years.
@angelat Thanks Angela. They are shiow offs aren't they. @gypsy6 Thanks Deb. I think this one is even cheekier than a galah. @yaorenliu They are show offs. Cheeky too and make such a noise until I feed them. Then they fly off and fetch their friends round. @dekky740 Thanks Karen. They are beautiful. @joluise Very naughty and bossy. @derekvickers Thanks Derek. The bokeh was surprise to me. @heidihp Thanks Heidi. Our photo club is fun, but a lot of work as David and I are both on the committee. @humphreyhippo@gamelee@mcmary@lafish Thanks so much. They are very colourful birds and really brighten up a grey day when they come in the garden.
@joeyc Thanks so much for your lovely comments Joey and for the fav.
@elaine55 We did have last years pictures on the website, but it has been changed this year and the pics are no longer on there. Maybe our new webmaster will put this years photos on the webpage after the exhibition.
@angelar Thanks Angela. Yes I do remember, we get some English birds here too. If we go inland or nearer to the cities we get sparrows and I have seen starlings in Sydney. We get a lot of the crow family too, ravens, crows etc. We get English pigeons in the cities too. Our local birds though are so colourful.
@goosemanning Thanks so much for the fav Sharon. The rope is attached to a bird feeder and I think he was hoping that more seed was going to be put on there.
The colours are great and so is the bokeh!
