Today's photo is a filler from a while ago. One of the theme subjects on 365 a while ago was 'lens flare' and at the time I didn't have a photo. A week later though I took this shot. Not usually game enough to point the camera at the sun, but this was so brief and also in the shade of the trees.
I just liked how the ibis were in silhouette in the shot.
Beautiful scene! Lovely composition! Don't understand why you're not game to point your camera at the sun - unless you are worried about damage to your eyes - I do it a lot, but I do have a flexible viewfinder.
@angelat Thanks Angela. Ask @yaorenliu what pointing the camera at the sun in bright daylight does to the sensor. Most times it will be okay, but in bright sunlight it can burn out the sensor. It happened to a friend of mine with his brand new Nikon D7000. Oops!!
@onewing - I wonder if it's that I mainly point it at the sun early in the day - i,.e. sunrise? If the bright sun does that to a camera sensor, surely the camera should come with a warning to that effect?
@angelar Thanks Angela. This in in Nelson Bay and is where the ferry boats go from. We very often get dolphins swimming around in this area too so close to the shoreline.
