Newcastle in the rain by onewing

Newcastle in the rain

Our photo club monthly outing last night was a night shoot in Newcastle.. Of course, it turned out to be the wettest day of the year so far. Our rain gauge recorded 22 mm rain.

Regardless of the rain though we had a great time and didn't get too wet as by nightfall the rain eased slightly.

It was a bit of a challenge though juggling camera, tripod, umbrella and backpack.

This photo is of Hunter Street in the rain.

Nice capture of Hunter Street! Like the reflection of light off the road and puddles. Hopefully some of that beautiful rain will make its way up to us!

I love the lighting - lugging all that gear was worthwhile for this great shot.

@kezza1319 @888rachel @elaine55 Thanks, it wasn't as creepy as it looks, I think it is just the rain which makes it look eerie. There were a few of us taking photos though and we did get stopped once by someone asking us if we had a cigarette, but apart from that everyone in town was very well behaved. Just a couple of odd ones around ha ha. @golftragic Thanks for the fav Marnie.

@ourrube Thanks for the fav Ruby. Do you come from NSW?
February 18th, 2014
@hermann This was the most rain we have had all year. 22 mm according to our rain gauge. Not much before or since though. I think they were saving it for our photo outing!!!

@jennyheath Thanks Jenny. Hopefully the rain is coming your way. We had 22 mm that day. None for ages and then it all comes down in one go.

@cljs @flyrobin @gamelee @happysnap @ivan @mcmary Thanks, it may have been wet but at least it wasn't cold and we soon dried off once the rain stopped.

@golftragic Thanks Marnie for the fav. It does look a bit creepy which is what I wanted to get across, but it wasn't scary really. There were a few odd balls wandering around, but we were in a group and I suppose given the rain we were some of the odd balls!!!

@dide Thanks Dianne. I have problems with my neck so had quite a headache when I got home. It was a good night though.

@wanabe Thanks Meredith. I will reply on your page. I think we are about 90 km from Toronto.

@eyesmile Thanks Gena. We had 22 mm rain that day. They had been saving it up for our club outing. It was a great night though and we all had fun.

@onewing Yes, creepy is a better word than scary and in a group of fellow-oddballs you're pretty safe from real odd-balls. I keep wondering if I should join the Geelong CC, but the night isn't good for me, i.e. a golf day.

@ourrube Thanks Ruby. Just checked out your profile and see you come from Manchester. I lived at Whitefield in Manchester for a while when I was a teenager. I don't think it gets as wet as there!!! A friend of mine is in NZ at the moment. Pretty hot here too.
