The circus comes to town

Today we have been to Tanilba House to collect the photos from our photo club which have been on exhibition there for the last month and on our way home we called in at our shopping centre. I thought while we were there that I would get a photo of the circus big top which is here at the moment.

I see that there is a lion on the poster, but I don't think there are any animals at this particular circus. I hope not anyway. Don't like to see animals in cages and I am not sure I would fancy it if a lion escaped in our neighbourhood.

Today's topic album photo - Street Art

I will only be posting in this, my main album for the next few months and will cease with a topics album for a while because I am typing up a story of my family history at present and that is taking up a lot of my time.
I will continue with my topics album later in the year though.
Great colour contrasts... well taken..

A great bright and cheerful shot -- like you I also hate the thought of caged wild animals in such confined spaces ! --in my mind cruelty !

Wonderful capture Babs, full of bright colours and sharp detail, as a child I just loved it when the circus came to town:)

I saw this when I was driving through with a girlfriend the other week - we were going to take our protest signs as I do believe they have animals as other friends in the area saw them"grazing"

Lovely colours, and I like the shapes of these circus tents. I do hope there are no animals either.

Beautifully composed and love the colours. Good luck with the family history. I remember how long it took me to transcribe and word process my dad's PoW diaries.

@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel. I have got all the dates, certificates, census records and photos etc of my family, all I have to do now is put it all together into a story. Sounds easy doesn't it when I say it like that. ha ha.
Still doing my main album photos though, so I shall still be around.

@annied I haven't looked closely at this particular circus. You could be right about animals. At least they are near the supermarket though if they have to feed the lion.
Didn't know you had been up here, you should have called in.

sorry for the group reply again, but we have been out in Newcastle all day today. I only just got in with this photo taken yesterday as the circus is packing up today. It has only been here a short time. Not sure how popular it was. I think if they did have animals here it wouldn't be as popular as the Moscow State circus which was here last year. No animals at that one.
As I said I am just posting in this my main album for a while and will not be doing a topic album for a few months. I am busy writing my family history and it is taking up a lot of my time. You don't get rid of me altogether though so I will still be around here.
Had to take a photo today of the demise of the rail line in Newcastle. http://365project.org/onewing/365/2015-02-01
So sad to see it go. It has been around since 1857.
