Hew Cottage

The Maitland Visitors Information Centre used to be located in this historic building. Set in immaculate gardens in the park, the centre was a slab hut more than a century old and known as Hew Cottage. The hut was discovered under a weatherboard exterior that was about to be demolished. The Maitland City council donated it to the Maitland and District Tourist Association and it was re-erected by the Maitland Lions Club.
