Diamond Princess by onewing

Diamond Princess

Day 12 and day 13 were the final days of our trip and they were spent at sea before returning to Sydney, so today I thought I would post this photo of the ship we sailed on.

In this shot you can see the Diamond Princess just off the coast of the Bay of Islands and also in the photo are two of the tender boats ferrying passengers to and from the ship.

Each tender boat can carry 100 passengers.

I took this photo from one of the tender boats on our return to the Diamond Princess after our day ashore.

The Diamond Princess can carry 2700 passengers plus 1100 crew.

It's a gorgeous shot -- conveys the life at sea in a floating city so well!

They are really immense, can't begin to imagine the logistics of operating this ship :)

Lots of people we know have done that cruise, and not a bad word about it. It is something we will do one day.

You can never get used to the size if these cruis ships. I have never been anywhere near one but they look simply enormous!

Nice shot. I hope you enjoyed your trip. I'm going on a 13 day cruise half way through January. Do you have any tips from your experience?

@katebury_ Are you doing the New Zealand trip? If you are, take plenty of warm clothes with you, it is pretty chilly around the Milford Sound area. Also use the stairs as much as you can instead of the lifts because you can eat so much food it would be easy to put on weight.
Are you going on one of the Princess ships? The staff are wonderful and I couldn't fault any of them. Have a lovely time.

@onewing thanks. I'm going to the pacific Islands on a princess ship. Good tip about the stairs I'll keep that in mind.
