Puketi Forest by onewing

Puketi Forest

Our last stop in New Zealand was at the Bay of Islands and one of the places we visited was the Puketi forest famous for its Kauri trees. I posted a photo of the kauri trees in December and here is a diptych of two trees. The one on the right is a silver fern, but maybe somebody can identify the tree on the left. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. Sad when the brain goes isn't it.

The one on the left is a Nikau palm.. our only native palm tree.. great shot.. love the rings around the trunk.. Nice shot..

Great shots Babs but it's no use asking me for the name of the tree I struggle with the ones I see all the time and we certainly don't have anything like that here!!
