This is a beautiful image Babs. Do post more of these. I was sitting outside eating breakfast this morning discussing skies with my husband (we are both off work today). last night I had been looking at just such a sky (in a far less idyllic setting) and we were wondering what the cloud formation was called - now I know. The clouds are whispy this morning. Yes it is fascinating to watch the clouds change.
"Mackeral sky and mare's tails make tall ships carry low sails" so the saying goes and it seems to have proven true for your weather Babs. These clouds appear when rainfall is approaching. A beautiful photo. big fav.
@cruiser Never heard the saying Chris, but yes you are right. It has bucketed down all day today and the clouds are so low. I am thinking of building an ark :)
