Not the best picture in the world, but it does show the start to my day.
We had our in between term U3A breakfast at the beach this morning. You can see a couple of our cooks on the right of this picture making bacon, eggs, tomatoes, hash browns and sausage on the barbeques. There was a healthier option on one of the other tables where we could have fruit, cereal and yoghurt. Tea and coffee was also provided.
Today has been a killer of a day. At 7 am the temperature was 32 degrees C. By 8.30 am where we congregated at the beach for our U3A breakfast it was 35 degrees C. At 1 pm the temperature had risen to 41 degrees C and we have been melting most of the day.
Now at 5 pm the cool change is on its way and the temperature has dropped to 27 degrees, so quite pleasant again. Hope we get some rain soon, I should imagine that all the moisture has been sucked out of the earth today.
Nice good depth of focus down this beach. You would have to say, "Hey, rest of the world, eat your heart out'!
I like the camaraderie seen here and the atmosphere! fav
I just couldn't live, or work, in that kind of heat. How do you cope. Ad for the breakfast, my heart would scream healthy table but my head and my eyes would push me towards the bacon. Hmmm, I wonder which would win 😋😋
Looks like a fab location for breakfast, I'm not sure i would be able to stay outside long in that heat though. It's so grey and dull here it's good to see a bit of sunshine in your photo!
@gigiflower It wasn't too bad at 8.30 am the wind was pleasant off the sea. It only got much hotter towards lunch time, but we were home by then. a cool change has arrived this afternoon and it is fabulous
@paul10 It was quite pleasant at 8.30 this morning. There was a breeze off the ocean and we all sat in the shade so an ideal spot for breakfast.
I had the healthy fruit and yoghurt. David of course had the full works - bacon, egg, sausage, tomato and hash brown.
We don't get too many days of over 36 degrees in summer, but when we do we just close up the doors and windows and stay indoors.
@inthecloud5 The temperature was okay for the breakfast. About 35 degrees and a lovely breeze from the ocean. It was only at lunch time that the temperature rose to 41 degrees. Much cooler this evening though and a pretty chilly 22 degrees now. May need to dig out the thermals, ha ha.
@cruiser Too right Chris. I had to go out at lunch time and drove the car with one finger and one thumb until the aircon cooled down the steering wheel.
How do you cope with all that heat, sitting outside for breakfast and with that view. It must be exhausting to even lift your camera. =) I like this shot, it tells a story, but if you had taken it from a different angle, say a little more to the right so we could see what the group of people can see, the sea and sand.
@gamelee Thanks Lee, It's a hard life but we cope. Couldn't get a good angle of the people and the ocean any more than I have done because to the right of this shot are huge trees and all our cars, plus the sun was in the wrong place for a shot showing the people and the beach any more than I have done. I have photographed this beach lots of times too so I just wanted to show the people in this shot.
@pcoulson thanks Peter. I wouldn't fancy breakfast on the beach in winter in UK. Glad we chose to live here. It did get hot yesterday, but we had left before the high temperatures hit. Cooled down a lot today.
@flowerfairyann It's not bad is it Ann. I remember winters in the UK, so glad we came here. It has cooled down a bit today, so still quite pleasant. I'll send you some sunshine if you send us a bit of rain. We desperately need some rain.
Sounds like a good old British brekkie Babs! Sorry to read about that heat though...106F, oh my gosh.... I can't imagine how hot that was... glad it cooled down later.
