Great shot. Jane Martin has told me, you did not receive my reply, regarding posting seven days a week. This is a shortened version. The reason she is not posting every day is because, girls talk more than boys.
Great focus and lots of detail stands out well against the sky Babs, I don't know how long its been up there over the road but I've a photograph of it minus the nest taken a few years ago when I went into the Sculpture Park and also the Chinese garden some where around there with my sister:)
Great shot eagle-eye. Trust a darned starling to do something like that, 'orrible birds that they are. But I do like the shot very much. Do you reckon the starlings are trying to one-up Mr Harbourside-Mansion??
@pcoulson I don't know how long it has been there either Peter, but quite a long time I think. It has always been there since we first visited Canberra many years ago. I must try and find who the sculptor is and what it is called.
@golftragic Thanks Marnie. I am not a fan of starlings either. We don't get them where I live. They tend to be city birds. I don't think it was the brightest idea to make a nest in here though. It must get bloody hot during the day. The day we were there it was 35 degrees C.
This is the second 'ball' that has hung outside the gallery. The first one they had was much nice but it was hit by lightening many years ago now and replaced with this one.
Lol, what a strange place to have a nest! I guess they are reasonable safe up there and the gaps would make it air conditioned too. It's quite an interesting looking sculpture, all the different shapes making up a sphere.
