Sorry I am a bit absent at the moment. David damaged his hip while removing a tree root from the garden a couple of days ago and the pain has just got worse. I had to drive him to the doctors this morning and then off to have x-rays to make sure nothing was broken. They think he has a torn muscle and he has been told it will take about 6 weeks to heal.
After I dropped him back home I then had to do the grocery shopping, rob the bank and pick up the prescription for him.
It has been a very hot day today and it is going to get worse as the weekend progresses. Up to 39 degrees C by Sunday apparently. I think we will be staying indoors for a couple of days.
I took this shot last evening at the marina when I went out for a walk once the heat of the day had died off.
Lovely reflections on the water Babs. After just suffering with a bad back myself I feel for your husband. Hope his recovery is a speedy one. Nice that in between the grocery shopping, picture taking, looking after your injured husband and spending time on here you still find the time to rob a bank or two, too. Wouldn't mind a shot of your next hold up ๐๐
Thats a lovely clear photo with good natural colour and fine definition! fav... Shame about David's injury - that gardening lark has got a lot to answer for!
Beautiful, peaceful, serene. fav. Dismayed to hear of David's mishap. I hope he can put up with the long recovery. It is frustrating to be grounded and adding in pain - not good.
Ouch, poor David. I hope he heals well and is a good patient!
Lovely picture, looks gorgeous on black. I'm with the Water Rat in Wind in the Willows: โBelieve me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.โ
Beautiful light and reflections - I hope you stay cool over the coming days. The weather is going to be awful! I hope you husband is feeling better soon.
@paul10 Thanks Paul. David has thought up a new injury now. He has torn the muscle between his hip and his ribs. Not quite as painful as his old RAF injury where he fractured his spine and now suffers from spondylolisthesis, but it is painful enough. He doesn't make a good patient though.
Oh by the way, I only robbed one bank and it was my own money I took out. I will let you know when I do the 'big job'. Don't want to get arrested at the moment seeing as I have the invalid to look after.
@lyndamcg No Lynda didn't bother with the stocking. Thought it was a waste of time. With my Yorkshire accent everyone in the bank knows who I am anyway. ha ha.
The calmness of the shot belies David's discomfort. My sympathy is with you both. For you, fetching, carrying, cajoling, admonishing when he thinks he's well enough to do....etc. Sympathy for him too, Alpha Males are never indisposed, they are invincible and without fear. Be assured, Babs, you have the Upper Hand and a tidal wave of 365s behind you ;-)
Super colouring in this shot. Hope Dave is feeling better soon. Perhaps we should stick him and Ed on an island together to recover. Ed's clips come out tomorrow ( all 42 of them. ) then it's just his sciatica to sort out! Photo is a big Fav.
@golftragic Thanks Marnie. We think it is a torn muscle but will find out tomorrow. Nothing to be done but rest and he doesn't do that well. Maybe have to anaesthetise him with a piece of 2 x 4 just to make sure.
@gigiflower ha ha you are right. My accent gives me away, everyone knows who I am. I can't even ring people up to demand money with menaces or make obscene phone calls. I only get as far as 'Hello' and they know who I am, :)
Lovely evening shot. Sending get well wishes to your husband. A hurting hip is rough as you use it for walking and balance. I know! Now, make sure you steer clear of the security cameras when you rob the bank- only one of you is really allowed to walk right now!
beautiful evening colours in this one Babs. Hope you have survived the heat. We have been copping it own here too but much cooler today. Sorry to hear about David's injury I bet he is frustrated as well as in pain. Hope it heals quickly
