So wonderful - at first I thought it to be a snow scene , but the white sands makes a lovely contrast against the evening sky and its formidable clouds - fav
@janemartin You could lose yourself in there Jane. The dunes are 32 km long and over 1 km wide in places. They go from Anna Bay to Stockton in Newcastle.
My first thought was, "snow at this time of year there" especially if you view this shot on black it looks like a snowy scene. Maybe it's because we don't generally see white snow here. It's a lovely scene in either case.
I thought I was looking at a snow scene at first and then I realised it was a Babs shot so how could that be. The is stunning. Great interest in the foreground with the grasses and the rolling sands, and that bank of cloud is amazing. A big fav for me :)
@sarahlth Not snow Sarah, it is sand. The sand here is so white I can see why you think it is snow. It was 27 degrees c this day, a lovely start to Spring here in Australia.
@gamelee@paul10 Our beautiful white sand is the closest thing I get to what looks like snow these days. It was a beautiful evening and a great start to Spring here in Oz.
Not so sure I would like to visit planet Hoth. @casablanca sounds too chilly for me.
Well at first glance I thought why has Babs got snow ? If I hadn't known you were in Australia even though it's winter I would never have guessed where it was! Beautiful though!
Great scene - I like all the gentle horizontal lines/layers, and the subtle colours. Looks like a place that is good for the soul. I envy you with all that access to the coast. Glad you had such a normal day
