We have been out with our walking group today to Morpeth and although it wasn't a strenuous walk I still think I overdid it a bit and I am shattered this evening.
Still not feeling 100% so I think I will have a quiet night tonight.
We had a lovely day though and the walk ended with lunch as usual. Morpeth is inland from where we live and a few degrees warmer too. Today the temperature was 28 degrees C (82 F).
I haven't had chance yet to process any of my photos taken on the walk, so here is a puzzle for you.
A few days ago I spotted this puzzle in one of our drawers, given to us a few years ago, and decided to have a play with it in Photoshop. It took a while to figure how to put the pieces back together into a cube.
Can you guess what the 7 Australian animals are shown here in the puzzle pieces. I will give the answer tomorrow.
@bulldog I thought you would like it. Look forward to see what you come up with. I am sure you wouldn't have any difficulty making one of these puzzles.
This is lovely and fun! So glad for @julzmaioro and @gilbertwood’s critter Australian critter knowledge. Hope you rested last evening and feel better today.
@julzmaioro@gilbertwood@merrelyn@casablanca@merrelyn Thanks for taking part. Julia can have almost a whole chocolate bar. Amercans call them opossums but here in Australia they are possums.
Casablanca was more specific about her answers, the bird is a sulphur crested cockatoo though and not a corella. The owl is correct and if we are being more specific about that bird I think that boobook owl is more correct than a tawny frogmouth. The boobook's eyes are definitely wider than the frogmouth and also boobooks sit up rather than sit down if you follow my drift.
Casablanca being more specific again said brushtail possum as opposed to a ringtail possum and it does look like a brushtail to me. So well done everyone, you can all have a chocolate bar.
1. Platypus
2 Crocodile
3. Sulphur Crested Cockatoo
4. Koala
5. Swan (I know it is red in this puzzle but our swans are black)
6. Possum (probably a brush tailed possum as opposed to a ringtail because ringtails have skinnier tails.
7. Owl (some guessed tawny frogmouth and others a boobook, but if we are getting into specifics here, I would go with boobook because their eyes are very wide whereas tawny frogmouths always look asleep, ha ha) Well done everyone.
Fingers crossed that the a/bs do the trick!!! Silly me, I didn't notice the request to name the pieces, but I could've done that, though not being specific about owls or possums.
@golftragic Fingers and toes crossed Marnie. I haven't had a bout of diverticulitis like this for a couple of years, it really knocked me for six.
I wouldn't have been so specific about the owls or possums either, but some people were and I just gave what I thought was the best answer to their suggestions.
I would not have done your puzzle justice by guessing the names, although I did recognize many of them! The only one I was absolutely certain of was the koala! What a great little puzzle and such a creative way to photograph it.
owl.. do I win a chocolate bar...hope you feel better after an easy night...
(Please note, I have added this to me Christmas list)
Hope you are taking it easy and feel better soon.
I can name six animals, and guest one.
Hope you feeling well soon.
