Yesterday's photo taken at Morpeth was of a quaint little cottage,. As you can see this one isn't quite so quaint, well not yet at least.
The roof has been repaired and the rest of the cottage is a work in progress. I will have to go back in a few months time to see what the new owners have done with it. I am sure it will look really pretty when it is finished. At least it is still standing. It was probably built in the 1800s when the village of Morpeth was established.
Really look forward to seeing it finished. Hard work but really worth it in the end. Our first house was 2 derelict cottages then we knocked them into one. There was no water, electric etc. so gutted them completely. Only 3 walls standing at one point. Was a wonderful experience - but we were young and it was our first house. I did think when I first saw them what on earth but so glad to be persuaded by my then fiancee!
@onewing Funnily enough - we still live int he same village. I took loads of photos when we were working and still have the albums. I did think of giving them to go with the deeds of the house but they were too personal to us to give to someone else. Perhaps when we are really old. It has had a few owners since us and does;t look quite what it did. I did say that if we ever had lots of money then I would buy it back but time has past too much now and it has changed a lot. Also I don;t have that big pot of money unfortunately. :)
