Earlier this year I posted a photo of my Dad on his birthday so I thought I would include one of my Mum today on what would have been her birthday.
Mum passed away 23 years ago but I still miss her and think about her often.
In this photo I think she is about 22 years old.
Early next year I am going to put together a photo book of family photos and I am in the process at the moment of scanning all the photos, as some will need restoring. It will be quite a job I am sure, but I am looking forward to starting the project.
Seems you missed your mum when she was still at a tender age. And that is very sad. I'm sure your mum is very proud of you even today. Lovely picture and lady.
Very worth doing. My Dad has been scanning in old photographs from the late 1800's as well as throughout the last century from old family snaps. It's a wonderful and rewarding thing to do.
It's a great idea as photos can end up damaged - I spent a few weeks scanning all my albums a while back, hard work but worth it! Your mum looks lovely - and we always have a special place in our hearts for them
good project Barbara....love the photo of your Mum. I have ideas of doing this. I have various family histories I have done, but a book solely on photos of the family is a great idea. Archival inks and paper...a book should outlast many new technology changes.
So nice to retain old family photos and this is a lovely portrait of your mum, what a wonderful project to sort out Babs the resulting book will be a great family keepsake and well worth all your efforts:)

TYF telling us a little more about your lovely mother. She sounds as if she was a real star. Mine too. Let's ever and always be thankful for them.
This is a gorgeous picture. Your mum was beautiful. One of my many retirement projects is to sort old photos ( of which I have boxes full) and put them into albums. Most of my retirement projects revolve around photography.
My Mum was a very kind person. She was a hard worker and spent her life looking after everybody. She was a nurse until my father died when I was three years old and then she bought a grocers shop and ran that so she could earn a living and look after my sister and myself at the same time. Even as a grocer she still delivered a few babies in the neighbourhood when the midwife didn't turn up in time.
