Salt Ash Bushfire by onewing

Salt Ash Bushfire

I have had a busy weekend so no time for photos.

I went to the cinema today to see Mamma Mia 2 with a friend and then called in to see Elizabeth at Regis on my way home. It is sad to see her deteriorating. Alzheimer's is terrible. She knows who I am but probably won't remember that I have visited. She is always jolly though which is nice to see.

Last weekend David and I went for lunch at Lemon Tree Passage and so on the way we stopped along the Lemon Tree Passage Road at Salt Ash to take photos of the aftermath of the bushfire there recently. This bushfire goes on for miles and even jumped the road at a few places along the way. Luckily no houses were damaged in the fire which was good because it came so close to some houses and also Tanilba Bay golf club.

I will post photos of this fire over the next few days because believe it or not I have a busy week ahead too. I really do need 8 days in a week.
Alzheimer's is such a terrible thing .. but very good that you go to visit.. and good that she is always jolly .. Hope you enjoyed Mamma Mia2 and you did some dancing in the eisles... This fire looks very devistating ...

It’s sad to see bushfire damage, hopefully it will all regenerate over the next few years.

Sad to see the burnt plants. Good capture.
I visit my cousin who lives with Parkinson’s disease. He understands me but cannot talk. I just hold his hand and chat of the old days. As we all are living longer some diseases have to be dealt with.

@julzmaioro I did enjoy Mamma Mia but no dancing. Knowing me I would end up falling down the stairs.

@kjarn @hermann @beryl @ludwigsdiana I will go back in a few months time and take another shot. It will come back to life pretty quick.

@pusspup My pal and I thought of singing along with the tunes in Mamma Mia, but decided against it, we would have probably got thrown out of the cinema. neither of us are singers.

@veengupta I am sure you are a great comfort to your cousin. Elizabeth's husband passed away a few weeks ago after succumbing to brain cancer. Elizabeth knows John has gone, but I am not so sure she knows it is permanent.

It's always sad to see the destruction caused by fire. But wonderful to see how most things reappear a few months later.

Hard to see this. Hope everything bounces back.

It's was really a devastating fire. I do hope it regenerates quickly. It is nice to visit with your cousin. Such a terrible disease.

Your photo shows the devastation of wildfires.

Photo is amazing in capturing the after effects of the fire. And it has its own beauty.

How said to see all that destruction! But I also see that life is trying to rise again. Superb capture.

A dreadful loss, hope it bounces back, nature is a marvellous thing.
September 2nd, 2018
Hope regeneration will be forthcoming
September 2nd, 2018
So sad to see the devastation a fire can cause. The good thing is that nature will grow again soon.

It does not look bad. If they get some water they will be reborn and will be even nicer. Everything will get away from the rain.
A wonderful shot. Great clarity.

A sort of sad beauty about this scene, beautiful shapes & textures there but a fire is a terrible destructive force which knows no boundaries. It seems to have done so much damage this year here & in yours & other countries. To lose your home must be the worst nightmare apart from loss of life. Poor Elizabeth, it sounds like she has rather gone downhill since John died or perhaps just a natural progression. You will be sad seeing her like that but strangely & sometimes happily it's a blessing. In her own little world.

It's incredible to see this. I hope it will grow back xx

@salza @louannwarren @bkbinthecity @carolmw @seattlite @taffy @sangwann @craftymeg @angelar @claudiet @haskar @happypat @psychographer @pyrrhula @inthecloud5 It does look a sad scene, but there is also something quite beautiful about the devastation fire causes in our bushland I think. It will bounce back very quickly and fire is essential to some of our native plants and trees for regeneration. I will post another photo in a few months time of this area showing the new life.
