@casablanca That sounds intriguing. I would be tempted to start digging myself if I were you.
It's amazing how many skeletons you can find once you start searching. I have been doing my family history for years and there are some interesting people in there who would have preferred to have kept their story quiet.
Fabulous dhot of this icon Babs. Re family history, my daughter did one on my dads side of the family. They came from Guernsey and there were some shady characters in the late 1700's ! Scary to think about it 😉
@pcoulson No wealthy landowners on our side either, but David does have a famous footballer who was the first Englishman to play in a FIFA world cup albeit for the United States rather than for England.
@ludwigsdiana I think we have all got some shady characters in our past. I have traced some of my history back to the 1600s. One line were Viking and I hope they didn't go to the UK raping and pillaging. I am sure mine were the nice Vikings not the nasty ones.
@onewing Thanks for the link- it was an interesting read. We have been to the National Soccer League Museum in Oneonta NY a long time ago when my sons were younger. It may have been just after Moorhouse was inducted into it- somewhere around 1987 or so. I'm sure we saw a display on him.
Nice shot of this passing icon.

Sorry to see it go- it's so photogenic. Great perspective and patterns on this.
