Still rather busy at the moment so here is a photo taken at one of the exhibitions in the State Library in Sydney.
Of course, I didn't take the original photo of the building of Sydney Harbour Bridge, but I did take the photo of the photo. It was such an interesting exhibition about the construction of the bridge and I just loved this picture.
Super - we did the bridge walk when we visited Oz a while back. We even had to have hankies pinned to us so they wouldn't fall onto the traffic! A great experience
I think we've become so used to modern construction we have forgotten how ground breaking building something like this was. Awesome original, great reproduction on your part with no glare!
@lyndamcg Must have been a memorable experience. Yes, I heard that everything had to be attached to you to stop it falling.
@ludwigsdiana @susiemc @haskar @gilbertwood @paul10 @hermann @sangwann @louannwarren @henrir @beryl @angelar @julzmaioro @yaorenliu @happypat @seattlite It was such an interesting exhibition with lots of photos of the construction too. The centre piece of the arch had to be installed at night because the sections expanded in the heat of the day and contracted at night.
@pcoulson I love looking at old photos too. All the exhibitions were fabulous and there were lots of old photos to see too.
