It is a very windy, dusty and smoky day today. Dust storm are drifting across New South Wales and another bush fire has taken hold at Salt Ash this afternoon. I suspect that this fire, like the one a couple of months ago, has been deliberately lit. The strong winds are causing havoc for the fire fighters.
Here is a photo of street art outside the railway station in Newcastle where we caught the train to Sydney last week.
There are some sick poeople Bout, they suspected the moorland fires we had in the north west this summer were deliberately started, no sense in it. Very pretty street art. Babs!
Love this galahs.
Update on the bushfire, it is still out of control and the road down to the bay and Lemon Tree Passage are closed. There are really strong winds at the moment that are really hampering the situation. They are apparently water bombing the area around Campvale and Salt Ash but the state of the fire is still at Emergency level. We are in no danger because the fire is about 20 km from where I live, but you can see the smoke from here.
