It is so hot today and I think we have a storm coming, so hopefully things will cool down then and fingers crossed we get a good downpour.
We took Elizabeth out this afternoon and luckily the place was air conditioned where we had our cuppa and cake.
Here is another photo taken on Sunday in Newcastle.
Around the Civic area where the university building is (yesterday's photo), the telephone terminals, electricity junction boxes and traffic light control boxes have been painted by street artists. There are quite a few around I believe, but as we weren't there too long I only spotted these two.
I will definitely be back soon as I have a few places to visit, including the inside of the university and also the new law court building a couple of blocks away from here.
Watch this space there could be lots of photo opportunities in a couple of months time again from Newcastle.
They are fantastic Babs made me smile this morning, so much better than a plain finish, look forward to seeing the artwork on others on your next trip:)
These are amazing . They now do that at the beach here. A few years ago I watched an artist paint one of the big dumpster by my condo. Sadly the following year the dumpster was replaced. All that work trashed, I was sad but happy I took photos of it.
@quietpurplehaze You will have to go to Winchester and take photos of them Hazel.
@nicolecampbell We have had a cool change after a storm last night, unfortunately, most of the rain missed us as we were only on the edge of the storm and our rain gauge only recorded 1 mm rain.
@lesip So sad when street artists work end up as landfill. The building where my favourite piece of street art http://365project.org/onewing/365/2019-02-28
has been demolished. The street artist Matt Adnate has done another artwork not far from there though but I haven't had chance to photograph that one yet
Great fun finds and a lovely way to brighten up street "furniture" :)
There is a similar project in Brighton where street artists decorate junction boxes
