For the next few days I will be posting photos of the latest street art in Newcastle.
Local artist Rebecca Murray has been commissioned to paint murals on the telecommunication pillars across the Civic Precinct.
Quite a few of the telephone distribution boxes have been painted and so far I have spotted 12 of them. I first saw two back in March http://365project.org/onewing/365/2019-03-06
but have since gone back to Newcastle on a mission to find more. On my recent visit I saw another ten and they are the ones I will be posting this week. I believe there are three for four more for me to find. That will have to be on another visit though.
Known as 'pillar people' they really brighten up the normally grey dull looking pillars
This is a great way to make street art through the telephone cable pillars. And I think it is a very creative way to embellish the street. Beautiful captures and collage.
@777margo You will have to post photos of the new art in your town Margo.
@pusspup Wow, you are right Wylie the bouncer on the right does look like Alan Jones. Maybe I won't kick him because I could hurt my foot, but I will give him a swipe with a big stick next time I see him, ha ha. Or maybe I should stick a sock down his throat. I am sure Jacinda Ardern will lend me one of her socks.
Very colourful.
