During lockdown I took on the task of scanning about 200 old photos from my childhood and of my parents, grandparents and great grandparents etc. I have edited them as much as I can without going too overboard and now I am putting them in a photobook. It is quite a task, as I am adding some family history to the photos too.
I thought this week for the FoR portrait theme I would post photos of myself when I was young.
Today's photo is of me when I was about 10 months old. Considering I was a premature baby and only weighted 3 lb 2 oz at birth I seem to have caught up by the time this photo was taken. I think Mum must have had me in a growbag.
What beautiful and creative photos you have in your album. (I looked back a couple of months.) Looks like you were a cute, curly headed baby. I look forward to seeing a week of baby/young you.
Lovely portrait, a Bonny lass! I have one very similar to this with a ball , it must have been the usual toys for photos in the late 40s early 50s, my sister had a ring on her photo.
I did the same thing last fall with the intention of getting rid of scrapbooks in exchange for a thin photo book. I was pretty ruthless in throwing out pictures.
@beryl Oh I hope you can find your baby photos Beryl, would love to see them on 365.
@craftymeg I think a ball was a necessary prop of the late 40s and early 50s. I have a photo of my Mum and my auntie taken when they were small in a studio and they are holding buckets and spades. I don't think at that time they had ever even been to a beach as they lived in the middle of Yorkshire.
@linnypinny I spent a month in an incubator in hospital too. I was probably allowed to come home earlier than I should have though because my mum was a nurse.
@happypat I was probably thinking why is this chap who is taking my photo wanting me to smile. Studio photos must have been a bit daunting at that age.
@tunia I have scanned all the old photos but I have kept them in a box. Can't get rid of them even though I am making a photobook.
Good luck with the project
