We have had a lovely day out today with friends to Tea Gardens on the ferry. It was a very pleasant one hour journey on the ferry, lunch in Tea Gardens and then a lovely one hour journey home again.
As you can see it has been a beautiful day, perfect weather and not bad considering it will be winter in a weeks time.
Our New South Wales Premier, Gladys Berejiklian, has given every adult in New South Wales four $25 vouchers to be spent locally what they call dining or discovery. Two vouchers for dining and two for discovery so today we have each used two of our vouchers, one on the cost of the ferry to and from Tea Gardens which costs $26 return, so we only paid $1 extra for that journey. The other was for lunch at Tea Gardens and the meal there cost us about $3 over the voucher cost. So we have each had a lovely day out for $4 of our own money. Thanks Gladys.
The top picture is of the ferry we went over to Tea Gardens on the centre picture is the ferry at Tea Gardens with the Singing Bridge in the distance and the bottom picture is the ferry we came home on.
I was able to get photos of the two boats because they cross each other on the journey to and from Tea Gardens and Nelson Bay.
@kjarn yes you are right I thought the vouchers were for everyone too but I was wrongly corrected by a know it all acquaintance of mine so thought I must have been wrong. I will correct my narrative now
The dining and discovery vouchers were actually given to every adult, not just seniors. Thanks Gladys
