Tawny Frogmouth by onewing

Tawny Frogmouth

Tawny frogmouths are often mistaken for owls because of their nocturnal habits, but they aren't owls, they are more closely related to nightjars.

They are Australian native birds and are quite difficult to spot because they blend in so well with the trees, especially when their eyes are closed.

This tawny frogmouth thankfully had its eyes open and my friend spotted it first while we were out walking a few days ago.
Great capture
