A drop of rain by onewing

A drop of rain

I did have another photo lined up for the last day of my monthly topic of birds, but this morning I spotted this kookaburra sitting on our fence looking totally fed up.

It started raining during the night and so far, according to our rain gauge, we have had 97 mm rain.

I just loved the expression on his face. He doesn't look happy and the drop of rain water on his beak just says it all.

He shook himself a few times just like a dog and the water sprayed off him. Didn't manage to get a photo of that though.

If you view this large you can actually see the rain too.

@cljs @annied @hermann @angelar @kathiecb Sorry for the group reply again, but been all go again today. The rain has stopped slightly this afternoon. We have had over 100 mm rain according to our rain gauge in the last couple of days. Much needed though.
The kookaburra visited this afternoon with his friend and they both looked very clean and fresh, so the rain has done them good.
