All it needs is a bit of TLC!

I bet you are glad that you don't have to use one of these typewriters these days. Not exactly portable are they.

Just needs a bit of a dust and polish and it will be as good as new though!

Oh wow, nice find Babs.

Love it, love it. Imagine how much effort would be required to hit those keys even when the machine was functional. And even more when you wanted upper case!

Haha...great find

I remember having something not vastly dissimilar though! Well found.

Ooh. My Grandma had one similar to this. A lovely picture but I am more fascinated by the box it is sitting on.

Brilliant image Babs, love the composition and tones, need some Gunk and lots of elbow grease to get it back to its former glory lol;)

It possibly needs a new ribbon as well. Love the shot, big fave.

What a wonderful old machine. My sister was telling me that old typewriters are hard to find because they are making jewellery from the metal letters on the inside. You can have a bracelet spelling your name all made from old typewriter pieces!

Great rusty find Babs :-)

@pcoulson Thanks Peter. A bit of WD40 and some elbow grease and it will be as good as new.

I learnt to type on a typewriter similar to this, not quite as old though. What a great idea Rachel, making jewellery with them. Good job they cut them up they weigh a ton.

And a new ribbon Babs. A wonderful capture.

A bit of TLC and it would probably fire up again They don't make 'em like they used to! No use to me without an "undo" button! :)

Great shot

I had a similar shot of one of these we have here in the shop - where is the spell check!! Fantastic find Babs. I love all the cobwebs along with the fantastic rust.

Such a great invention!! I remember learning to type on a manual typewriter, I still bash the keys on my laptop a touch to hard - old habits die hard.
June 5th, 2014
May take a bit more than a bit of TLC altho well worth it. Just make sure it doesn't fall into the box beneath. Could be rather loud.
June 6th, 2014
Wow that looks heavy! Another beauty when it's restored!
June 7th, 2014
@tomtom How did we manage before the undo button!
