Mystery flower

I have no idea what these flowers are called, but they just looked so bright and cheerful and after events at the Lindt Café in Martin Place, Sydney in the early hours of this morning, I needed something bright and cheerful.

It is so sad that the siege ended in the deaths of two of the hostages and my thoughts go out to the family and friends of the young people who died this morning. A sad day for Australia.

Dreadful day for the world. I'm not sure what the botanical name for these flowers is but we call them rain daisies in Spain.

A truly terrible event in your country Babs....we watched with horror at the unfolding of events. Those poor families & those three young children left without their mum.....there are some bad people in the world.
Very bright & cheerful flowers,

A very nice tribute and a horrible event - why can't everyone just get a long.

I have to say these flowers need to come with a heath warning - wow the colour smacks you in the eyes :)

Thinking of those in Sydney. A lovely tribute.

I think they are Osteospermum or Cape Daisies. Such pretty flowers on such a sad day. And another tragic day today with all those poor children murdered in cold blood in Pakistan. Let us hope it's a turning point.

Our photo exhibition in the library ended yesterday and we have all the photos at our house, so people have been calling in all day to collect their photos. Then we have been out for dinner again tonight. All go. I thought this week was going to be quieter.
Thanks to everyone who recognised this flower as an Osteospermum or African/cape daisy.
