I had to pop to the shops this morning and as I didn't have the dogs in the car with me I stopped off at Wellingborough Embankment. This is the car park and at first the swans ignored me until a man stopped by and gave them a bag of food. Pandemonium broke out with the swans and seagulls all fighting for the food. I was snapping away on my iPhone when I suddenly realised these big boys were coming towards me looking for more food. I beat a hasty retreat to the car!! I don't trust swans!!
Always a treat to see so many swans down at the Embankment as they are normally in the water - the River Nene flows through Wellingborough and the Whitworths Flour Company is based on the river with I suspect warm water flowing out into the river which keeps the swans here all through the winter months.

Many thanks for your lovely comments on yesterdays images - very much appreciated!!
I've never seen so many swans together in one place - very cool! I understand your hesitancy - I was chased by one a couple years ago lol. Still beautiful birds nonetheless!
I know what you mean as swans can be viscous if feeling threatened. Great shot and we have a lot of them on the Embankment in Bedford whatever the weather!
Did they follow you????
