I am not very good at taking shots of people I don't know but I thought I would bite the bullet and go out with Finlay and the camera and see if I could get a shot of a stranger. As I came round the corner walking towards me was Rosy and her dog Nala (a cockapoo). I have only recently got to know Rosy - well you know how it is everyone talks when you have a dog - and we have become great dog walking pals often putting the world to rights as we walk. So strangers no more!! Rosy had the biggest smile on her face and said she had just got the news that her son had passed his vivor and has got his PHD!! I was so thrilled for her and told her to stand still while I tried to capture her joy!! We chatted for a while and then i went off in search of my proper stranger - see the pic in my Extras Album.
You have certainly captured her joy Pam, great portrait. I am doing a 100 strangers project on Flickr but haven't spent time on it recently. I have someone's photo to put on that I took months ago must get around to it soon. I ask them about themselves and then a small piece to go with the photo, I usually send them the photo too.
