For many years I have collected pebbles from beaches round the UK that I have visited. I have always loved the black ones with white stripes and have collected most of those from one of my favourite little bays - Duckpool in North Devon.
@anazad511 Thanks Ana. I have the stones in the garden arranged in different places mostly around the roots of plants to protect them and it looks good too!!
@elaine55 Yes it is Elaine and I am very careful - i only pick up a couple of quite small stones from a beach. When were at Westward Ho! earlier this year a woman and man were struggling off the beach with a huge rock!! Everyone in the car park just stood and stared it was so brazen!!
I really like the texture and tones of your stones - especially water-worn they are intensely tactile and so pleasing to both the eye and to touch - your light has a lovely bluish cast to it as well - intensifies the colors nicely. - - my brothers dog "mines" quite large (about two clenched man-sized fists) rocks from the depths of the rivers when we take him swimming and always insists on bringing the final one of the day into the truck to take home - so I have quite a lovely collection of them on my hearth (They make great rocky canyons and outcrops for photos of my little people.)
@kittikat I love the sound of your brother's dog "mining" for the stones!! I really must get some little people as I often have ideas and no real people to model for me!!
