9th November 2013 - Standing Guard

I filled up the bird feeders and put out extra mealworms and sat and waited for my morning visit. No birds!! I wondered why until I realised Finlay was sitting on the lower level waiting for the birds. When I called him in he went up onto the wall right under the feeders as if to say "I am on guard duty". Needless to say no bird shots this morning!!

(I think it looks better large if you have time)

Many thanks for your kind comments on my first light trail attempt. I will be having another go - watch this space!!
What a great shot of Finlay. He is just doing his duty.

I liked your story. Oh well, maybe you can capture some birds later. This is a really cute shot, though.

Hmmm yes dogs are not generally good for encouraging in the birds! Lovely shot of Finley though.

What a great story and great image to go with it -- and a wonderful portrait of Finlay, too! I came to visit your album because I know you've captured some great bird images and I have the opposite situation at my house this morning -- lots and lots of apparently migrating birds, no food for them, and no idea how to do bird photography!

Wonderful! Good for Finlay, protecting the home from unwanted birdies!

ha ha, my favourite 365 pup.....he has such a cheeky face and has clearly been mischievously depriving you of your chance to get another PP with Mr Robin!

What a lovely capture. I'm intrigued by the round thing on the feeder. Is it full of peanuts?
November 9th, 2013
He´s quite the poser! ^^
November 9th, 2013
He always looks at you as if to say "what???" Lovely shot, gorgeous dog. Fav

@rosiekind Thanks Rosie. It is a circle of peanuts in the shells. I got it last week and I have seen a couple of starlings sitting on it. Not sure if anyone has discoved it can be eaten yet!!

@lucypics Thanks Lucy I really appreciate the Fav!!

@pixiemac Hee hee I think Finlay was feeling a bit jealous of all the attention the little robin has been getting and decided to do something about it!!

Sweet. Perhaps he thinks you filled the feeders with his kibble. Love the shot in black and white.

That little Finlay is such a good little dog. Lovely shot, Pam. Perfect in b&w.

Oh, Findlay is such a great guard dog! Too bad he doesn't realize that watching for the birds is what was keeping them away!
November 10th, 2013
He looks mildly guilty! Lovely shot
November 10th, 2013
This reminds me of the old sepia photos where people had to stay still for ages with very straight faces!

Great shot too by the way
