2nd July 2013 Pyramid Orchid

Yes!!!! I am so excited - this is my first Pyramid Orchid!! I went out looking for wild orchids today and this is what I found. I have looked it up and they say its rare!! Wow!! I'd better not tell you where I found it!! LOL!! Next on my list to find is a Bee orchid - they really are beautiful!! As I was taking this shot I looked down at Finlay sitting at my feet and saw he was covered in large ants. I was standing on an ants nest!! They were running up my trousers!! I still feel itchy!!

I think this qualifies for TodaysTopic - Fragile!!

Wow, I've seen a bee orchid but not this beautiful flower. Are they found in East Anglia? If so i will have a search. I can relate to your excitement.

@lucypics Check them out Lucy - I googled them. They usually grow on chalky soil but that's not what we have in Northants. A contact of mine on Flickr has told me there are loads of them plus bee Orchids on Denbies Hillside in Surrey near where I used to live!! I don't think I can get down there though!!
