I have been chasing Peacock butterflies round the garden trying to get a good shot but it is very windy and they are really flighty. I am now too hot and have given up for today!! I liked this shot of the butterfly's eye - what an amazing pattern it has.
Sympathise with you about the wind. I went to a spot I had some success with before to try and get something other than bees but the wind was blowing too much to get good focus and the butterflies wouldn't settle om anything more than a second or so. It also didn't help that some vandal had chopped down the plants in the best shot. Something about stinging nettles and avoiding children coming in contact with them.
