9th January 2014 - Where have all the seagulls gone? by pamknowler

9th January 2014 - Where have all the seagulls gone?

There are no seagulls at the coast any more they are all inland scavengig off the landfill sites. The air was full of gulls and red kites and they took off every time there was a loud bang. Most people show you the beauty of their surroundings and I take you to the local landfill!! LOL!!

Uploaded for my Extras album

See my main shot for today - one of the many red kites http://365project.org/pamknowler/365/2014-01-09#comment-17316037

Yup, landfill, but what a wonderful shot! It's strangely beautiful and very colourful. And we don't smell it on a photo! ;-) Nice capture. FAV.

There's nonetheless something very attractive about the shot - the whirling seagulls and the 'pops' of yellow

Wow, that is one huge flock of seagulls. Still I suppose that is recycling in a sense! Very colourful and very striking image. Fav

A very clever idea to shoot this. I guess they are smart enough to adapt to the environment around them. A very dynamic shot.

Who would have thought a landfill site could look so attractive? Love all the colours and movement - nicely seen.

I think the birds think it's a beautiful spot.

This is amazing, so much detail in large view. Besides the mass of flying birds I liked the thought that it almost looks like some of the refuge is being blown into the air! Wonderful capture with lots of great detail - even if it is the landfill, it is cool.

Wow - that is something else! Do they cover the garbage with anything? It looks as if it could blow all over the place on a windy day. I bet it's stinky, too - LOL. Great capture!
