A Great Crested Grebe sitting on the nest. I was delighted to see this as the Grebe are normally right out in the middle of the lake and too far away for me to get a good shot. This was on the edge of a little island a little way out into the lake.
Another great capture! I have just been looking at some photos I took of a Grebe on her nest in a reserve in France and, as you say, it was right in the middle of the lake and my lens was definitely not man enough for the task!
