and this really is the last of these, it's the one that's been hanging on and on for ages now but stil providing a pop of colour in a corner of the garden that has long gone over to Autumn/Winter.
This completes my ad-hoc 'last of the' series of photographs for the month of September; Carole said at the begining of the month "you seem happier when you are structured" (flash of red February, Rainbow March and my recent 'hi-key' series). Not sure that I truly am as by the middle of the month I'm seriously doubting if I can continue them ............

These coneflowers do tend to hang on. This year I planted two orange ones… they bloomed and then the plants looked as though they died off. Then they came back with new growth and more flowers. It was surprising to me.
