Op Corporate Remembrance

Lincoln's International Bomber Command Centre has a display at the moment commemorating the fallen of 40 years ago during Op Corporate, the British campaign to retake the Falkland Islands following their invasion by Argentina in April 1982.

There are 255 silhouettes of service personnel (the same number of British fatalities during the 10 week conflict) representing the Parachute Regiment, Royal Marines and the Royal Navy. The foreground has giant poppies whilst the oversized steel Lancaster Bomber Wing rising almost 32m into the Lincolnshire sky provides a superb backdrop.

Thanks for your interaction on yesterday's submission.
Such a poignant reminder of what happened all those years ago.
