What a co-incidence, Hazel. I was on the same spot a few days go with Jacquie visiting the Christmas Fair. The steps were crowded with tourists and a guide. The floor was under a few inches of water too. Good atmosphreric photo of yours.

David, I think the water must have risen again then because there was only the lightest covering when I was there. The Crypt is magical, I think - hope Jacquie liked it.

Hazel. Yes I think the water rises and falls often. Maybe the state of the water table or even the tides? We both enjoyed our visit to Winchester. first time for Jacquie and we both love the Cathedral. I wanted to show her the Round Table too but it the Hall was shut.
