Green River

(Mammoth Cave National Park)
Our group wanted to visit Mammoth Cave, even if all of us wouldn’t be going into the caves. Unfortunately, it was a busy Saturday in the summer, so when we arrived, the next available tour wasn’t for several hours.

This mini-trip changed significantly from the original plans. My sister and her husband were stuck home with a seriously-ill canine and my brother’s group wasn’t able to get a non-smoking room in the same motel where Clare & I were staying.

With the delay before the next tour and Lana not feeling well, Clare & I opted for a self-guided hike and then headed for home.

This shot was taken on our hike, looking down on the Green River (app. 37° 11' 29.50" N 86° 06' 19.75" W).
