Monarch by rhoing

Monarch

Taken in the campus garden next to the Plant Biology Greenhouse. Initially, I thought it was just a bad angle, but this specimen seems to have lost its port side (left) antenna!

Confirmed at BAMONA as “Danaus plexippus” or “Monarch”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1016675

You really do take butterflies for granted when they are flitting around the garden.
