We have DSL service. As the ISP tech support guy told me, “Unfortunately with DSL, upload speeds really leave something to be desired. Unfortunately we have no way of increasing those.” So when I archive 5Mb .jpg files, they take about 2–3 minutes apiece. Yes, *each*. As a result, I tend to upload photos for storage in batches here-and-there during the day-and-night. This is part of the reason that I'm not as enthusiastic about photography at the moment.
Once I get the router installed and the networking configuration set, I'll investigate switching to cable, but for now I'm still stuck in the 90s or 00s…

Congrats on getting the router installed. We live "way out in the country", but our solution was Verizon 4GLTE via a "jetpack" (which is essentially a telephone just for internet. Speed is very good!)
