Mass this morning at Saint Ann Catholic Church in Fremont, Ohio.
This is a carved leg of the main altar and a photo I could not have taken a few short years ago. Pre-365 I would have wanted the entire carving. I would not have shot, or cropped to, just "halo-to-wings." But that's the essence of the carving, so that's what I shot for this image and what I like is how that brings out the "end" grain of the wood at the top of her wings.
Who was St. Ann? Mary's mom!
